Adventurizing Australia full time...
G'day G'day,
My name is Tim. My partner Michelle and I came up with a plan a couple of years ago.
After many adventures and enjoying the outdoors thoroughly we decided to set in place a plan to change our lives significantly and live a life of adventurizing full time.
After almost 6 months of procrastination about vehicle and caravan vs trailer vs RV. We decided a camper trailer based on being able to reach more remote places easily.
September 24, 2022 was the date our plan was executed. We set off. Living a life on the road in Australia. There are alot of people doing the same. However... this is Australia our way and our style. It's not a "lap" it's more like wherever the wind blows us.
Carrying on from recording our adventures in previous years we will continue to do the same here. Hope you enjoy and thanks for tuning in.

Best Spot On The Murray - We Reckon!

G'day G'day, This week we continue our adventure along the Murray and search for a more remote camp for what was the Easter Weekend. When we saw the Murrumbidgee on the map we decided we head to where it junctions with the Murray near Boundary Bend. We found great camp spots and probably the best spot we've seen on our travels along the Murray. Ching Ching! www.trueblueoverland.theprintbar.com ...
Paddle Steamers On The Mighty Murray - Echuca, Victoria

G'day G'day, Making our way along the Murray slowly, we stopped in at Echuca to have a go on a paddle steamer. What an experience. A vessel still making it's way up and down the river as it did over 100 years ago. Great free camping, excellent historical port to explore. A genuinely great time to be had here. G'day G'day, Short video this one, wasn't planning on filming this leg of the tour. However my first rainbow trout was a bit of a moment so I thought I'd whack together a short clip so that there is a record of it and save the memory. haha. First time I've eaten the fish also. After travelling this beautiful country full time for the past year and a bit we highlighted a few livable issues with out old beloved black luxy. 3 main issues being, size, comfort and security. Aboriginal Sacred Places and Beautiful Bush Camping - Goulburn River NP

G'day G'day, We continued our trek southward and pulled into a beautiful spot in the Goulburn River National Park. Close to Mudgee in NSW, this park offers remote fishing, camping and bush walks. We found a couple that lead us to some spectacular spots where Aboriginal people once congregated. It was easy to see why. Enjoy. "BEST" Beach Camp In NSW, We Were Told... Pebbly Beach, Yuraygir National Park.

G'day G'day, We were first told about this spot by a Grafton local while we were in Innamincka. He said he'd be coming to this beach for over 40 years. We made note and forgot about it. We then heard of it again when mentioning a good beach camp spot among fellow travelers. So we marked it on our map. On our way south through NSW we steered the Luxy toward it. Quite the popular spot however. As...

G'day G'day, A bit of a look around me mate Keith's camper trailer. A 2019 Austrack Simpson X. It's all kitted out pretty bloody nicely. It's the same base trailer as ours, so it was very interesting to see up close again after a couple of years since I seen it. Keith has a keen eye for detail and doesn't do things willie nillie. a very clean and practical setup indeed. Enjoy. www.trueblueoverl...

Great vidio but national parks killed the real hill end yes its a nice place to look at but having a npw police telling you were to go and wat to see and were you can walk and were to fossick
love that fishing rod holder behind the awning!
@@southerngentleman5321 yeah It's a good spot. Using wasted space.
Yo timbo . Ive just got a new mattress for the van and its way better than my old clark rubber mattress. I got the new one from ikea and it was half the price .
G'day mate...regarding the solar panel not putting big amps?? If the batteries are nearly full it will only read / put out what it needs...hope that makes sense? If the batteries are low the regulator will let it pump in 10 or 12 amps pending size of solar panels?
@@Darioros326 ahh right. Yeah I follow what ya saying. But yeah I've not had much luck out of them panels at all, they used to keep up no problem and when the sun set the trailer was usually at 100% on a good day. I think gradually they go bad. The redarc one on the roof of the new rig pumps pretty well. So not sure if it's just quality etc. But I'm pretty over them. But just keep forgetting about them as we have a tonne of power for our needs in the trailer
G'day Tim To stop water running down the flexi-poles on your tent role on a couple of snug fitting O-rings. Keep a few spares, they don't last forever in sunlight. Love your work. Cheers.
Ahhh brilliant mate. Cheers for that.
Great to see the trailer is holding up so well for you guys .Ching Ching
@@minkos61 thanks mate. Ching ching.
Thanks for the update on the gear Tim, I never thought of the water flowing down the windows poles into the holes, so good idea about the rope/ribbon idea, will have to keep that in mind for our roof top. Also I went back through your videos and found the one about the new rig and what happened to the old Luxy, and realised i was away that week hence why I missed the video that week. 😅 ha ha Stay safe out there. 🤙
@@shauntaylor6175 yeah mate that water can be a pain in the arse with the room zipped on. Cheers for watching.
Living the dream guys, ❤ your updates, useful info for me
@@desigrainer2128 glad you find some useful stuff in there mate.
I'm not sure you would be happy with an air mattress, they tend to go down during the night. Have you thought about Makin Mattresses? Not used them myself but have heard good reports from others who have had ones made for their vans. They can make any size, thickness, style inc pillow top etc. Might be worth a look. Enjoying your videos.
@@paulsgarage3169 thanks mate. I might enquire before we make any solid decisions. I feel like our only option is the high density foam as it's 75mm thick. We can pack it up with all our bedding in it at this thickness. Any thicker than that it will put too much stress on the hinges when folding it away. I like the idea of the self inflating ones. I understand they may go down during the night. My early enquiries one a few products though have ensured me they won't. Drifta actually make the perfect size ones. We'll get two so we can choose how hard or soft they are. That's where we are at with it. But havn't made a decision just yet. It's an important part of the rig... maybe one of the most important parts.
@@TimRumble I didn't know the mattress had to fold with the setup you have. That does make it a bit more difficult. You could always try an "egg Carton" foam underlay under or on top of your existing foam mattress. Problem is you don't want to be spending money on things that might not work. I'll be interested in seeing which way you go. Happy travels.
@@paulsgarage3169 yeah the tent folds in half. It's quite large inside. But we are large folks. 2300mm x 2150mm. So yeah Drifta self inflating x2 is at the top of the list currently.
Glad you keep it so real Tim Good on you 👍🍻
Cheers mate. Thanks for watching and following along.
Nice spot! I just did the upgrade to lithium 🤑 It is good not having to worry about power, easily runs my dual fridge for days and days...
Yeah it's great isn't it. Quick charging. And can use most of the amp hours available. Can't wait to sort the canopy out with some.
What time of year is this? I'm off to Menindee next month (August) ... I'm a bit nervous about weather!
This was October. Don't be worried about weather. It is what it is. Just check it before you go and the current road conditions at the time.
What month did you do this trip
August mate.
What month did you go to poeppel corner
We certainly did mate.
How far is Haddon corner from second sand dune

Cracking camp spot. Serenity 💯. I hope you got your tooth sorted Michelle. That job sounds interesting too. Ching Ching 🥃

No worries mate. Thanks for watching
Beautiful site you guys managed to get on the vid . I imagine it gets very busy on that river with boating during the holidays . You guys have a great weekend see you next week Ching Ching

We loved Echuca Great place to stay great vid :)
Cheers mate and yes it's a great spot.
no its not check the Oscar w in south Australia
haha, I questioned them on the boat about that. I didn't think it could be the ONLY one left. But anyway. Thanks for drawing our attention to that. we'll be going down to Goolwa at some stage and will have to go for a ride on the PS Oscar W.

Cracker spot and awesome paddle steamer.
How awesome is that paddle steamer. Loved seeing the engine running.

Another cool video, awesum camp spots as well. Are u going to tell us what happened to the old Luxy? Do you still own it? Or did I miss that video? 😂🤙
I think I mentioned it in a previous video. But yeah she's gone to a new owner. I had a few rums one Friday evening and thought bugger it I'll see what I can get for it... Boom. Sold next morning. was a bit sad.
Another great vid. How do you go about getting permission to camp on the property boardering the Old Strez?
We were lucky enough to get to know the station folk on a personal level while working in Innamincka. That's the only way we were able to.

Love catching and definitely love eating trout. we hot smoke ours whole some people complain there too bone and taste yuk but we think there amazing eating

Twas a tad cold my oath.
Doesnt look like Kmart sell the toiletries roll any more :(
Oh no... that's no good. Even the canvas bloke said they were great quality
Lived in Hill End as teen, woke one morning with a cow sticking its head through my window. When I attended the public school there were 26 kids in the school
Oh wow. That would have been such a great place to grow up. Especially as a kid.
@TimRumble We moved there from the Central Coast when I was in yr 5 or 6 and I'll never forget the day I saw my old class and teachers come stolling down the road on an excursion to Hill End of all places lol. Yeah some good memories but the dreaded bus trip every morning to Mudgee high school was ridiculous lol
@@missmidnight71 oh true. Yeah I hated the bus rides to and from school also. Must have been a long trip for you.
@TimRumble 2 hours lol! In winter it was almost dark by the time we got back
That golden gully place is kind of fascinating. You don't realise unless you scamper up the cliffs but there are little tunnels cutting through from one gully to the other up there. Also If you ever make it back there, head out to History Hill. The guy who made the mine in town and then had it taken from him by the national parks trust, built one bigger and better just out of town. He also has the most incredible collection of gold mining memorabilia
Yeah right. We'll get back there I reckon someday. We did go out and see ol mates collection. It's very extensive. Luckily we allowed a full day there.
This is exactly how mine is set up same awning similar swing out shower tent soft top crazy dog tent but on a tinny trailer not a dot is a perfect set up
Ahhh nice mate.
What did u pay for your new rig ? Looks nice
More than enough for a 2015 model. $40k. But had sound advice in the decision making process as we initially were looking at 2017 onwards.
40k is cheap for the amount of gear it’s got. Probably 15k-20k of accessories, many k’s on her ?
What does your Hilux weigh ?
I,ll touch base on that in a future vid. But it's a good question. As it was a tad heavy. But we've rectified that now.
Really interesting and nice production. Well done
Thanks mate. Hopefully not too much production. Try to keep it real. Haha
@@TimRumble just meant good choice low key music and film quality. Just right
@@Peter-ml1is awesome. Thanks again mate appreciate it.

It bloody better mate. Haha.
She’s pretty schmicko mate. Someone has thrown some serious coin at it before you got it. Great upgrade on the old girl. What has happened to the old one now?
Yeah they certainly have. I wasn't going to sell the ol luxy. But it would have ended up being a burden. So one night after a few rumbies. I whacked it up on Facebook marketplace and it didn't even last 24 hours and it was sold. Was a tad sad. May have shed a tear.
@@TimRumble well hopefully the new owner will love it as much as you guys did.
Love the Aboriginal spot. I've been wanting to do a trip that entirely revolves around sacred grounds with artifacts. So cool.
There's plenty about. Just gotta find places willing enough to showcase the history. Alot seems to be locked up.
Dam that's sad, probably good to keep a lot locked away from assholes. I visited a small cave with og paintings and some grub sprayed on it with line marker. Made me furious, they probably thought they were funny. Or more likely not properly educated. I wish the Aboriginals could have there culture back as it always was. They knew stuff. We should be learning a lot from them and then collaborate. But hey who's listening. Not the government.. Love this land. Keep tracking on, Loving the trip with you Tim
Another great spot there Tim. Thanks for sharing.
It's a beautiful spot mate. Plenty of wildlife too.
